Anger is a natural human emotion — but when it’s uncontrolled, unpredictable, or expressed in harmful ways, it can damage relationships, careers, and emotional well-being. At Anchor Mind and Wellness, our Anger Management Groups provide a supportive, structured environment where individuals can explore the roots of their anger, learn healthier ways to cope, and begin the journey toward more balanced, respectful communication.
Whether you are here because of a court mandate, a workplace referral, or a personal desire to change, we’re here to help you take control of your emotions and create a healthier life.
Anger Management Groups are therapist-led sessions focused on helping individuals recognize, understand, and regulate their anger. These programs provide education, peer support, and skill-building techniques designed to reduce aggressive or destructive behaviors and promote healthier emotional responses.
Our groups are based on evidence-based practices and facilitated by licensed professionals who specialize in emotional regulation, behavioral therapy, and conflict resolution. Sessions are interactive, respectful, and designed to help participants grow without shame or judgment.
Our Anger Management Groups are open to:
Individuals referred by the court or legal system
People facing disciplinary action at work or school due to anger-related issues
Those experiencing conflict in relationships, parenting, or social settings
Anyone who feels their anger is negatively affecting their life and wants to make a change
You do not need to be in crisis to attend. Many clients join proactively because they’re ready to take accountability and improve their emotional well-being.
The main objectives of our Anger Management Groups are to help participants:
Identify triggers and patterns of anger
Understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behavior
Recognize the impact of uncontrolled anger on relationships and personal health
Learn practical coping skills for managing frustration and stress
Build self-awareness and emotional intelligence
Improve communication and problem-solving in conflict situations
By the end of the program, participants often report increased confidence in handling high-stress situations, improved relationships, and greater overall emotional balance.
Groups typically meet once per week for 8 to 16 weeks, depending on individual needs and legal requirements. Each session lasts 60 minutes and includes:
Educational segments on anger and emotional regulation
Group discussions and shared experiences
Interactive activities and skill-building exercises
Role-playing scenarios for practicing new responses
Weekly reflections or journaling (optional but encouraged)
Topics covered may include:
Understanding the physiology of anger
De-escalation techniques and calming strategies
Healthy vs. unhealthy expression of emotions
Setting boundaries and assertive communication
Forgiveness, self-compassion, and letting go of resentment
Groups are kept small to allow for personalized attention and meaningful discussion. All sessions are confidential and facilitated with respect and sensitivity.
Peer Support
Sharing experiences in a group setting helps reduce isolation and fosters a sense of accountability and encouragement.
Real-Time Practice
Groups offer a safe space to practice new behaviors and receive constructive feedback.
Guidance from Professionals
Our facilitators bring clinical expertise and compassionate guidance to help participants make lasting changes.
Personal Growth and Insight
Participants leave with a deeper understanding of themselves, their triggers, and how to build healthier relationships.
