Empowering Parents to Build Stronger Families

Parenting is one of life’s most rewarding roles — but also one of its most challenging. At Anchor Mind and Wellness, we understand the complexities, pressures, and emotions that come with raising children in today’s world. That’s why we offer Parenting Groups designed to provide education, support, and community for caregivers who want to grow, connect, and parent with intention.

Whether you’re a first-time parent, navigating blended family dynamics, raising a child with special needs, or facing behavioral challenges at home, our Parenting Groups offer a safe space to learn, share, and feel supported.

What Are Parenting Groups?

Parenting Groups are professionally facilitated group therapy sessions that focus on helping caregivers develop effective parenting strategies, improve communication, and gain insight into child development and behavior. These groups provide both practical tools and emotional support for parents navigating the everyday and sometimes overwhelming responsibilities of raising children.

Led by licensed therapists or counselors with expertise in family systems and child development, our groups offer evidence-based guidance in a warm, judgment-free environment.

Who Should Join?

Parenting Groups are ideal for:

  • Parents of children and teens facing behavioral, emotional, or academic challenges

  • Single parents or co-parents seeking healthier communication

  • Caregivers adjusting to changes like separation, divorce, or blended families

  • Parents experiencing stress, burnout, or frustration in their parenting role

  • Anyone who wants to build stronger, more positive relationships with their children

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit. Many parents attend simply because they want to be more intentional and effective in their parenting approach.

Topics We Explore in Group

Each Parenting Group focuses on real-life issues and offers actionable tools. Common areas of discussion include:

  • Positive discipline techniques

  • Managing tantrums, defiance, or aggression

  • Building emotional intelligence in children

  • Setting and enforcing healthy boundaries

  • Strengthening parent-child communication

  • Navigating screen time and technology use

  • Co-parenting after separation or divorce

  • Dealing with school-related challenges

  • Reducing parental stress and burnout

Groups are structured to allow for both guided discussion and open sharing. Participants can express their concerns, ask questions, and receive feedback from both the facilitator and fellow parents in similar situations.

Why Group-Based Parenting Support Works
  • Shared Wisdom
Learn from other parents’ experiences, mistakes, and successes. You’re not alone — and there’s comfort in knowing others understand exactly what you’re going through.

  • Community and Encouragement
Parenting can feel isolating. These groups provide a sense of belonging, support, and validation.

  • Therapeutic Guidance
Our facilitators are trained mental health professionals who bring a clinical lens to parenting challenges, helping you understand not just the “what” but the “why” behind behaviors.

  • Growth-Oriented Mindset
By reflecting on your parenting style and learning new approaches, you can create lasting change in your family dynamic.

What to Expect

Each group meets weekly or biweekly for 60 minutes and includes:

  • A warm welcome and group check-in

  • Therapist-led education on parenting topics

  • Group discussions and interactive exercises

  • Tools and strategies you can apply at home

  • Optional take-home materials or journal prompts

Group size is limited to ensure everyone has a chance to participate and receive support. All sessions are confidential and conducted in a safe, respectful environment.
